How to speed read a PDF online

Most “PDF to speech” or “PDF speed reader” tools upload your file. A better default: parse the PDF in the browser, then run RSVP or Focus. That is the PDF workflow BriskRead is built for.

Step-by-step on BriskRead

  1. Open the online speed reader
  2. Choose Upload file → PDF, EPUB, or TXT
  3. Wait for local parsing (no account required for free use)
  4. Start in Flash for known material, or Focus for dense chapters
  5. Optional: enable Audio Sync for dual-channel reading
  6. Save to library if you want to resume later

Scanned PDFs

If the file is image-only, use Image OCR (or OCR fallback when text extraction is empty). OCR is slower but still client-side in BriskRead.

Free tier note

Free reading has a word-length cap to support hosting and ads. Lifetime Premium removes that cap and ads — useful for full books and long reports.

Privacy summary: document bytes for PDF/EPUB/OCR stay in your browser. Optional URL extract and AI features only run when you use them (AI uses your own Gemini key).
