Terms of service

Welcome to BriskRead! By accessing our website at briskread.com, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use.

1. Use License & Intellectual Property

BriskRead provides a web-based client-side reader tool. Permission is granted to temporarily load the web app for personal, non-commercial transitory reading.

You may not:

  • Attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, or maliciously extract code from the speed-reading engine.
  • Use URL extraction or other capture tools to scrape copyrighted web assets in automated bulk.
  • Resell or redistribute BriskRead features under a different brand name.
  • Interfere with the display advertising that keeps the service free.

2. Free Service & Accounts

  • All features — unlimited document length, the full library, every reading mode, TTS audio sync, OCR, and in-page reading in the Chrome extension — are provided free of charge. The service is supported by display advertising.
  • Accounts are optional and exist only for cross-device sync of your library, queue, and reading totals.
  • Account credentials are personal. Do not share, resell, or publish access to your account.
  • If you clear browser storage, sign in again to restore synced data on that device.
  • We may modify or discontinue optional services with reasonable notice where practical. There are no paid tiers, so no refunds are ever owed.

2. Disclaimer of Warranty

BriskRead is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaim and negate all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property.

Because all document parsing, image OCR, and speech narration occur client-side, BriskRead does not guarantee that file parsing will be error-free or compatible with every corrupt EPUB or scanned PDF structure.

3. Limitations of Liability

In no event shall BriskRead or its developers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the speed-reading tools, even if we have been notified of the possibility of such damage.
