What is RSVP reading?
RSVP means Rapid Serial Visual Presentation: words appear one after another at a fixed place on the screen so your eyes stop hunting along a line. It is the core of many online flash readers, including Flash mode in BriskRead’s RSVP reader.
How RSVP works

Limits of RSVP
RSVP is not magic. On unfamiliar, formula-heavy, or legal text, forced flash speed can destroy comprehension. That is why serious tools also offer Focus, Flow, Bionic, and Page modes.
The research agrees. A 2016 review of reading science found a firm trade-off between speed and accuracy, and noted that RSVP removes the quick glances back that readers use to repair understanding (Rayner et al., 2016). A 2017 study of speed-reading apps found they did not improve comprehension (Acklin & Papesh, 2017). If single words feel too sparse, bionic reading keeps the whole page in view.
